Read a Thon 2022 〰️ Winners Announced 〰️
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Register your child here: MemberHub Link
2. Email link to family, friends and neighbors to ask for pledges.
3. Pledges can be made per minute read (with a cap) OR a flat rate.
4. Stockpile books! (Forget Me-Not Books gives a free book to kids on Fridays!)
5. READ, READ, READ!
6. Log minutes daily! Look for our link.
7. Parents be sure to report all of your child's minutes by 9am on Oct. 17th! All minutes read in school will be logged by teachers. All minutes read outside of school are to be logged by parents.
8. Redeem prizes!
*Prefer to donate off-line? Please make checks payable to Barnette Magnet PTA and choose the memo field to write which student you are supporting.
Checks and/or cash can be handed in at the front office.
GRAND PRIZES:
Top earner for the school wins a 7” Amazon Kindle Fire
Student with most minutes read K-2nd, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th wins a $25 Barnes & Nobel gift card!

RULES:
-Read before and after school!
-Reading during class counts only during assigned “read-to-self” by teacher.
-Being read to by family, friends, or anybody else counts!
-Reading aloud to self, siblings or pets counts! If reading to someone else in Read-a-Thon, it counts for both of you!
-Reading in the rain, on a train, in a box, or with a fox, counts!
-Practicing the alphabet, letter sounds, and sight words count (K-2).
-Audiobooks only count if following along with the words or with special permission from parent, guardian, or teacher.
-Reading before the official start does not count.
-NO GUESSING OR ROUNDING OFF!
Please make it a point to keep a clock handy for accuracy.
-BE HONEST! Please be honest to keep this fun and fair for everyone.
